nelpiper
Hi guys. I work with mm as my system unit setup. The attached shows my parameters for the cloth modifier when I apply it out-of-the-box. When I do a very simple scene like a plane over a box, the plane just passes right through the box like the box woudn't be even in the simulation. When I start increasing the cm/unit, I start getting some interaction but the simulation starts getting very slow. Anyone having the same problem? I'm using MAX 2010 x64 BTW. Thanks. thatch
You shouldnt change the cm/unit as the cloth wont simulate realistically. how big are your plane and box in mm?
nelpiper
The box is 500mm while the plane is 1000mm.
kid84
clothes are easier to simulate in cm. or perhaps change all the value in the setting x10. u can giv a try, it might works.
thatch
Does the cloth behave correctly when you simulate straight away rather than simulate local? Try lowering your steps to 0.001 for local simulation and see if that works.
Fran
Try increasing the Depth and Offset values of your collision object. Cloth seems to have a problem when these values are too small.
