Jeff Mottle
Been considering trying it out to get out of the house more and away from the computer. Just wondering if anyone here has tried it? I used to volunteer for Calgary search and rescue years ago and taught orienteering to an adventure racing organization, so it sounded like fun. Numenus
Geocaching is great! Doing it with your friends or your family is a lot of fun. Specially the night caches, sometimes creepy but good! You can find caches in your region, I was really surprised, that one goes directly next to my house! You have to try it!
JonRashid
Strange that you need a third party influence to get you outta your chair. I suggest you buy a dog for exercise.

Tommy L
My wife read about it online so we took our niece and nephew. They absolutely loved it. So did we. There are lots of levels of difficulty to try. Free fun.
Camby1298
I did it often before I moved to where I am now. It is a good time, we used to pick some caches that required to off road and digging; and sometimes we would camp over night or sleep in the truck. Awesome thing to do to make the weekend go fast. I highly suggest you try it at least once. And make sure to bring the camera and that you have a decent gps system. In fact I think Ill pick back up on it... thanks for the reminder. Koper
Sounds pretty awesome will have a go at it this Christmas holiday when i'm visiting the wine region of Sunny South Africa. I checked and there are a couple in the region, not to much but a couple. I might even try and place some myself, hehe. should also be a good reason for a photography field trip
TheAllusionisst
And here I thought the thread was about geometry caching for mental ray rendering! LOL I need to get out more!
alias_marks
oh man! it's been a while since I've heard of geo caching. It's definitely fun. When I was younger, Much to our chagrin my dad used to pile my sister, step-mom and I all up in the car, hike a bit, we'd go searching and always ended up having fun. haha, good stuff. Only did it a couple times but it was worth it. Definitely would recommend trying it at least once, twice if ya like it
BrianKitts
most be a growing thing. Its got my interest.... although I'll admit I've never heard of it and had to wiki what the heck it even was. Come to find out there's 1000's of geocaches here in the bay area. Ironically I just came across a Tshirt that aims to sum up the sport.... http://fun.drno.de/pics/english/2256_87ea.jpeg
Crazy Homeless Guy
I have never been Geochaching, but I have Rogained a few times, though it has been a handful of years now. No GPS involved, just a compass and a map. Unfortunately I don't think I am in shape enough to do one today. I will have to work on that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogaining ...and my map and compass skills are lackluster at best. Jeff Mottle
Haha, that's a funny t-shirt. Rogaining....never heard of that one, but sounds a lot like orienteering. We should get the whole CGA community involved and flood all of the caches with CGA coins LOL. Worldwide takeover.

Justin Hunt
I think my kids stumbled across a treasure a little while ago whilst waiting for a break down repair van to arrive. They found a little stone with a picture drawn on it. Who needs GPS jhv
