Dave Buckley
1). Attached is a picture of a recent parti volume test, i've got the volumetric effect really subtle, yet as you can see, i have one really blown out wall. The scene is lit using mrsun/mrsky/mrphysicalsky mr skyportal, FG and GI, and the sun is the only light used to create volumetrics. mrphotographic exposure is set for to an ev of around 11/12. Highlights/burn value at 0.01 Not a clue why my wall appears as so, any ideas. 2). I want the edges on box-like objects to be broken, for example concrete steps. I believe this can be done in vray using the edgetex but i'm not too sure what the mental ray equivalent is or if there is anything similiar. Any help is much appreciated
Justin Hunt
I can only answer the last question, drop a noise (or something similar) into the map slot in rounded corners If you watch Master Zaps master class video, on the Area site, he covers this quite nicely. jhv
Crazy Homeless Guy
Is the wall blown out without the parti-volume shader on? It might be easiest to upload the file in order to troubleshoot the blown out wall.
amer abidi
If you watch Master Zaps master class video, on the Area site, he covers this quite nicely. jhv Justin, could you point out where exactly it is? Dave Buckley
cheers for the link justin can't get on it though unless i register for the event. however, what you suggested worked perfectly and it's not a majorly difficult concept to grasp i should be fine without the video unless you reccommend that it's really worth watching
Justin Hunt
The reg is free and yes the video is worth it, especially if your doing a bit of photomontaging. Even if you aren't there are a few gems of info which will make it worth it. Its long so set a bit of time asside to watch jhv
