sygboe
hi I cant seem to render an image bigger than 2600 pixels. when i try it just comes out black. i went on a vray course a while back, and we did an image 4000 pixels and it didnt seem to have any problems. i've been trying .vrimg too. is there a limit? i have 3ds max xp 32 bit. 2 gigs of ram. quad core it's just frustrating waiting 4 hours for nothing. then trying some other settings. Trevor Tizard
I always render larger than 2600 wide for production. Does the file render OK at a lower size?
sygboe
It's to go on a website in the end. it's rendering fine at 2600, but goes blank if i try to go any higher. i do want it about 4000, just for my purposes too.
WAcky
Any chance you're using Distributed Rendering? That's a low amount of Ram for a large image like that, then again it could be empty. Any vray warnings in the vray messages window? Have you tried just doing a basic teapot scene at a large size? You'll know then whether it's a scene issue or a global vray issue. bijoy
i think u have to turn off the frame buffer for now and render it out in max default window. then just do any post editing in PhotoShop.
Tom Hamelrijckx
What happens if you just region-render a part of the image?
Trevor Tizard
Have tried the .vrimg route, with the frame buffer turnrd off and just the preview.
sygboe
thanks for the replies. i tried just a teapot on a plane and could render at 8000 pixels. so it's to do with my scene, lighting and materials. i'll just go through and try to optimise it.
