gfriedman
I need to downsave to a different version of max, but I need to preserve my vray physcam positioning so I can overlay a different style rendering overtop another one - is there a way to convert a physcam to a standard one - so I can export as fbx or is there a script out there for exchanging physcams between versions? since not alot changes re:cam's basic settings it seems like it should be fairly easy to export and import...but I can't figure it out anyone have any ideas? alias_marks
This would be kind of a funky work around, but might work if you need the vrayphys camera to be exact. 1. View physcam 2. convert to perspective (shortcut P) 3. Ctrl + C to create a native max camera 4. Export fbx 5. Import fbx and view standard camera in viewport. 6. Use the script 'Anything to Physcam' from lele's vray scripts 7. You'll have to re-apply camera settings but this should at least get you the same exact location and view for a vray phys cam. Probably an easier way, but this would be my approach, good luck

gfriedman
interestingly, I didn't even need to convert to normal cam - the vray cams appeared in the downsaved fbx... thanks!
