creating user grids on oblique planes

Hello again,

After lots of good hlp and tips on my first post, I thought I would throw another one out there. I come from a background of using formz and sketchup. I am trying to make the jump to max with a few struggles. One of these items is trying to quickly create new user grids with correct coordinate orientation related to the specific plane I am trying to work off of. Refer to my image, and you can see the user grid activated which shows it is not oriented to the same xy coordinates as the plane referenced. Thus, any new geometry is oriented incorrectly. Is there a way to fix this?

Try tool > align or press alt+a and try checking each of the align orientation boxes until you get the correct result. Make sure the top three (position) boxes are unchecked.
