Guest mutkakokudka
Hello everybody, I ' ve encountered a strange "bug" i think with vray & 3d Max....i am using vray Sun/Sky & physical cam. Suddenly at the glass surfaces i have a black shape that come across over the part of the glass....of course there is nothing behind. Reflection map is the same Vray Sky, i have the sun set invisible. I tried to turn off Vray Sky and put different environment but no result so i guess it's not the enivronment. I also acreated a new geometry (a simple plane) and i put a different reflective material but the strange circle is still there. I thought maybe someone here could have encountered similar problem..... Any help is highly appreciated Thanks

Stephen Thomas
I've also had a similar problem in the past and it related to the cutoff value. Under the options tab in your material settings try lowering it from 0.01 to 0.001.
Guest mutkakokudka
Thank you for the answers. I found that the problem is that i am using falloff reflections (perpendicular to viewing direction), once i switch to Fresnel is ok. The IOR is 1.517, i tried 1.6 also, it is a glass with thickness ...do you guys know how can i prevent this with falloff (i use it often because i can control better "fresnel" effect) I will try to lower cut off settings and i will let you know thanks
