Guest ronalle Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Hello, I have a problem with an interior scene am working on.materials and colors of the room(a coffee shop to be) are not working as expected,lighting and all,its a time in my life wherein am just stuck,guess everyone out here had that time before........i need advice on good color combination's i can use..... and material setting for very dark wood.....am not getting blurry reflections.attached are images from scene and a test render..very low light cache is 100 and irradiance map is set to low, int samples is 30 and subdv is 20 ... no aliasing. i need inspiration and help in lighting materials and colors...any suggestion will do.thanks very much......... bijoy Posted November 19, 2009 Share Posted November 19, 2009 If you want blurry reflections then the 'black table blurry' material is all wrong. to test reset that material to all its original settings. then add a black diffuse color. under 'reflect' set it to a dark grey color and add a 'falloff' map to it. set it to 'fresnel'. set the highlight glossiness to about .75. thats all you need. do the same for the floor as well (reflection wise) and increase/decrease the 'grey' and highlight glossiness to get more or less reflection. add a direct light or vraysun (i think) coming into the area (simulating sunlight). for the vray light i never have to go more than 6 or 7...you have 40 there but im not sure what other settings or camera are you using (i normally use default camera). hope this helps for now. zhopudey Posted November 25, 2009 Share Posted November 25, 2009 1) Add a Vray sun. It'll ask you to add vraysky environment as well. Say yes. You will not need any lights outside the windows. 2) Use a vray physical camera. Turn on exposure control, set shutter speed to 100 and ISO to 200. 3) Set color mapping to "Exponential" 1,1. 4) Change your materials as suggested by bijoy. 5) Do a test render with IR "low" and LC around 400-600. 6) Control image brightness using the camera exposure controls. Increasing ISO increases brightness. Decreasing shutter speed and f-number increases brightness. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
