aristocratic3d
Hi I have been facing some problem. When I add a v-ray light instead of standard light the texture looks somewhat blur. This render looks dull. What should I do. I have been referred from vray-materials.de Kind regards -albaki

WAcky
Are you sure you're adding a vraylight? You could be using a vrayambientlight by mistake?

WAcky
Hrm. Opening this in 2010 is causing some problems but I'll take a guess... So when you're using the vraylight, you're also turning off your direct light? I'm not sure whether you're using GI or not but I turned up the vray light multiplier and it started looking a bit more defined.
Stephen Thomas
The only differences I can see are that your vray light isn't as bright as your direct light (easily fixed) and that your shadows are less defined. Obviously the vray plane light is an area light source so the shadows will be softer. The softness of shadows and also brightness have a direct relationship to the size of your area light. If you want more control over the sharpness of your shadows I suggest using the vray sun instead as you can adjust the size parameter. Otherwise keep your direct light but change the shadow type to vrayshadows which wiill let you do the same thing.
aristocratic3d
Thank you all, I got the solution I need. I can use v-ray sun. And yes there was something with the brightness. I dont need that soft shadow. that is why I have to use v-ray sun. Thanks all again.
