postite
Hi. I have to render an anim in a very short time with max2009 and MR. I use 2 pc quad core for rendering (no local network). BUT… I have a difference between renders made on pc1 and pc2. Kind of brightness or gamma issue (not very cool in the final AVI ) Pc1 : Intel Q6600 3ds design 2009 x32 Gamma/LUT settings 2.2 Pc2 Intel Core i7 3ds design 2009 x64 Gamma/LUT settings 2.2 I tried to render the scene on another pc (my q6600 max2009 x32 at home) and the render looks like those made on pc2 (darker). Here are 2 tests. I really have no idea why this happens and I don’t have a lot of time anymore. If anybody can help… Thanks
kippu
for best results , its always good to calculate irradiance map in one computer , save it and then use it to render it in different computers
postite
Ok thank you. I will try. But, I really don't understand why with the same max file and the same version of Max, I have 2 different renders. Where is the logic ? Is it possible that the hardware is the cause oh that ? Does anybody ever heard something similar ? Thanks Edited November 24, 2009 by postite
Macer
I wouldn't have thought that it would be hardware related (but I may be wrong!), I'd be looking futher into the gamma setups: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/28806-gamma-backburner-2.html This may help, but I don't think you are using backburner, so not sure? Otherwise try rendering out your FG on one machine, then copy it and use it for both.
postite
No, i don't use backburner. I tried to use the same FG map on the two pc. And... two different renders. I also checked the two 3dsmax.ini files and they are the same. Thank you for your help. I hope I will find a solution...
