folding animation

i asked a question a while ago about unfolding objects. this time i need th opposite, i have a steel part in net form and need to animate it so that it folds into its correct position. it shouldn't be too hard as all the fold are 90 degrees, but for some reason it's proving to be more difficult than first thought.

 

are there any plugins for this type of animation

Not that i know of, but if you break up the object into parts, and set up a hierarchy where the first fold is a child of the next fold etc up until the last it should be pretty easy to set up i would assume?
