Exluding Objects From Sun?

Is it possible to exclude an object from the sun?

 

I see with a regular light you can exclude an object from receiving the light. I also see in object properties you can exclude GI and final gather.

 

I dont see an option for excluding an object from receiving sun light in the sunlight parameters. Is there a way to do this?

 

I have back ground images I that I do not want to be effected by the sun light.

i think you have do break the daylight assembly apart and then you can add an exclude list to the mrSun.... not sure on that though.

 

EDIT - nope, doesn't work. not sure if this is possible with mrSun.

Wouldn't it make more sense to give the bg plates a material that does not respond to illumination, such as a surface shader? It would make things a whole lot simpler.
