alias_marks
Hello, just ran across this and on the surface looks like a fairly promising resource finding 'per job' talent and also finding possible work. Curious if anyone has tried it or maybe something similar. Did you find it useful? http://www.supervisual.co.uk/# Thanks ahead of time for any feedback. martin walker
its a load of garbage....they advertise lots of jobs all over the UK...then when you ring up or enquire its the same answer " that project is currently on hold" or " the client is waiting a few weeks"
Sawyer
I think its bs. Even if it is legit it looks to me like the worst way to get a job/employee. Many many years ago - I think like 8 years ago I signed up for a service that you paid for that listed "gigs". They were all small and no matter what price I would come up with some one from another part of the world would give a price that would be so low it was a no win situation. Client gets the cheapest least experienced worker and there is no way you wont be underbid in an international situation. Even a local bidding if you have someone who has 20 years experiance and someone who is just out of high school competing for the same work... There was no vetting process for either the gigs or the artists only if you can pay.
alias_marks
I must say, I had a bit of skepticism when I first saw this, as I realize the best relationships in our industry are never developed from fringe websites such as these (or any industry for that matter), but just wanted to see if anyone had experience with a service such as this, as I have not, and am curious. Thanks for the feedback fellas, much appreciated. Sawyer, lookin forward to grabbing some drinks at the next cga SF happy hour. cheers! M-
Simon Moir
It's a recruitment agency. They placed an employee at our company last year. I think you'll find a lot of recruitment agents are hyping up the number of available jobs (even more than usual) in the current climate; Supervisual are probably no better or worse than any other agency. That's how they harvest candidates, so if you need a job I don't really see the harm in submitting your details.

AndyC
Its just a recruitment site. They are fine, I have spoken with them a couple of times, so far without any business being done, but nonetheless they were easy enough to talk to. They did leave a LOT of positions up on the site that were no longer real, but they did acknowledge this on the front page. A lot of employers put positions on hold, not cancel them, maybe that's why they kept the listings. I also think its a small setup, they are based in Peterborough, UK. This isn't a major metro area at all, I grew up very close to there, so is probably 2-3 people, if that. I would give them a go, after all they aren't charging you to apply, its free after all!
