mx3cki4e
Hey Guys i have recently started to learn about materials and mapping and i came across this problem: When i test mapped (using UVW mapping mod) a rough paint texture onto a 2mX3mXH: 0.2m box (serves as a wall or floor). At first when i fit the texture it looked too big so i adjusted the length and width (i also used the gizmo) but after rendering i noticed perhaps the seam/boundary/edge of the texture map are visibly dividing the whole surface of the box. Could the problem be somewhere in my settings or is it just the texture's problem? I have posted the image of my test render view, a top view, and the UVW settings, please advice thank you. JonRashid
the problem is in your texture that it does not repeat. So when it comes across the next iteration of itself you can see a difference. You could do the tiling in photoshop then modify it so the tiling isn't there and paste the new 2x3 texture on to your model instead.
mx3cki4e
Hey thanks for the reply, so my problem was in texture in the first place, so i just edit the existing texture in PS, btw what do you mean by "paste" the texture onto the model instead? How do i make sure when editing the texture in PS that it will definetly fit on a 2mx3m wall or floor when mapped without the need to adjust the sizing or gizmo? if u could refer me to a tutorial that teaches how to edit the existing texture into a seamless one i would appreciate it. Thanks again.
