matt0711
Since I am posting this it is obvious I have no idea what or how i did this, but now when i hit the render icon, the rendering status bar does not appear. The render frame does appear, but sits there still while FG is being calculated and so on, and then the image will begin to render, but the satus bar is no where to be seen. This in and of itself is not a problem, just annoying that i do not know the status of each phase, but what is a problem is that the missing status bar has the "cancel" button which is very helpful when testing things out and do not need a full render. Any thoughts as to how or where this may have gone and how to get it back? Edited November 30, 2009 by matt0711
matt0711
If anyone is interested this was solved for me in Autodesk's "The Area" Forums. The poster (to give him his credit) was Steve Curley. I would post a link, but i do not have 10 posts yet, so i can not, but the answer was to: Close Max Locate your 3dsmax.ini. On my system it’s in C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\9 - 32bit\enu\ Open it in Notepad and search for “RenderProgressDialogPosition” - you’ll find this [RenderProgressDialogPosition] Dimension=47 101 379 244 Change the 1st 2 numbers ONLY (47 and 101 in my case, will be different for you) to 0 and 0 Save the file, restart Max. The Dialog should appear at the top left of your display next time you render. Edited November 30, 2009 by matt0711
