White Dots

Hello,

I am creating a small interior scene with a window to the outside world.

I created a photon map and saved to my desktop.

I am now 30% through creating the final gather map also to my desktop.

I am seeing whites dots scattered in my model. I am thinking maybe these are photons but why are these showing and how do I get rid of them?

Can I get rid of them after final gather map finishes without recreating it? Since that takes hours that would be ideal.

The first pass of the FG is a very ruff estimation and each following pass refines the lighting, the final render then smooths this all out.

Are the white spots still there when you final render?

What are your Photon and FG settings because this should take a few minutes to calculate.

I am trying to send the render to my rendering farm now (rebusfarm) but am getting errors because there are keyframes in my model.... I am clueless to animation and I cannot find them an remove them. The only thing I can think of that created is the cloth modifier I added to one object which I have since removed...

ok i tell it how it work, because we have in some weeks christmas :p

go to the mr_sky_map of your environment map. Then Set the "Disk Intensity" to Zero. When you need The Sun Disk at the first ray, use a environment ray type switchter....

- eye: mr_sky_map with "Disk Intensity" = 1

- reflection: mr_sky_map with "Disk Intensity" = 0

Well, the final render came back from my farm and it did clear the dots up. I guess to your point they were just misc from final gather. Glad I wasted 7-8 hours trying to get rid of them before submitting the rendering lol.

That is the first time I ever saw those, and as such assumed it would be an issue.
