I have searching for Internet for some time now. Our office is strictly using model space which I hate it. I am so used to paper and model space and mutiple layout tab. I trying to find an easier way to merge the layout to model space. I have express tools but merging doesn't work. Is there any easier way of doing it?

Thanks in advance

Try to convice them.

I had the same problem, but when I came with good points they where following my way.

I think that the oldies don't want to change there prehistoric way of do'ing there work.

Maybe my office is a little bit smaller... (3 pers.) but it worked!

I've just spent the last 4 months trying to teach my boss the principle of Model/Paper space and finally he's got it. At least he wanted to learn though.

There's no reason not to use such a fantastic (and simple) tool other than embarrasment at not understanding what a viewport is.

Latest version of express tools will allow transfer of objects from paper space to model space.

The concept of paper space has been in AutoCAD for a very long time. It is easy to use and features such as sheet manager, require its use. If they are not using it, they would be having a lot of trouble justifying any AutoCAD upgrades for the last ten years and are wasting a lot of company resources by using the AutoCAD without paper space.

Cheers

I used to contract around the offices a lot and would often come across companies still using modelspace, not really understanding paper space , what it was and what it could do. They haven't been so hard and fast' about it because they just don't know what it is.

I have just generally set up my drawings in paperspace regardless, and then explained to them how to handle them. I always enjoy the challenge of staying on top of the new innovations, and as a contractor have got a lot of milage out of teaching permanent staff tips and tricks with a daily autocad tips email. Mostly they seem pretty grateful, because most have'nt bothered to look past the very basics. Good PR for me, and they are pleased they used a contractor for the job.
