gfriedman
I've tried affect pivot only and rotating but its doesn't seem to stick. I am ultimately trying to shapemerge in a side view with a spline that was taken from another mesh. So since I didn't "draw" it in side view, it has a z pointing upwards. How do people typically deal with this situation??? thanks
luckymutt
While under Affect Pivot Point, have you tried "Align to World?" Also: Select your object and try: Utilities Panel->Reset XForm then collapse to an editable whatever.
gfriedman
yes, i tried reset pivot but that returned the pivot the world z, which is not what i want. I will try resetxtransform.
amer abidi
The best way (or maybe i should say my way) to avoid any surprises is to retrace over your spline in max in the side view, and use your new spline for your shapemerge. I avoid importing splines from other packages at all cost (except for reference of course).
