dochjunior
Hi there, I am rendering a relatively simple animation of a desk on a white background, and am having problems rendering out the AO pass. I get big black dots on the render in the "occluded areas". When I turn off Motion blur on my vray Camera the problem is no longer there, but I need the motion blur. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help!
kellyctv
What are you using for GI? Brute force, Irr map?
dochjunior
Hi kellyctv, I'm using Irr Map, Medium-Animation... I sent an email to the Chaos group and they said that they repoduced the problem I had and then sent it to their developers to fix it so it might be a problem with vray... I will post again as soon as they get back to me, but if you think you know what it could be let me know Mark
kellyctv
Hopefully they can help. I only asked because recently I got similar results on a rendering. I was using Irr map with a light Cache for secondary bounces, with adaptive DMC antialiasing Max subdivisions set to 100. Anything or 50 subdivisions gave me the black spots. When I switched to Brute force it cleared them up. Good luck. Let us know what it turns out to be. Kelly
dochjunior
I tried that and it does indeed reduce the black dots quite a bit, but they're still there. I still haven't heard back from Chaos, but will let you know when I do... In the mean time I solved the problem by using a light material with vraydirt in the map slot (as an override mtl), instead of using the extraTex render element. And other than that... Merry Xmas and Happy New Year! Edited December 24, 2009 by dochjunior
