pablo scapi
Hello: as allways before actually buying the parts for my new machine i´m asking you because you have always helped me alot in this. My plan is to use some things from my actual PC as the case, the PS, some HDD, DVD burner, etc. This is what i was thinking about: MB: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Socket 1366 Proc: Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz Box Socket 1366 SSD: OCZ SSD Core Series V2 2.5" 60GB MAESTRO (for OS and program files) RAM: Mushkin Essential DDR3 PC3-12800 12GB 6x2GB 8-9-8-20 Video: Asus GeForce GTS 250 1GB Dark Knight GDDR3 I have some doubts on the video card, and the ram memory, i currently have a Nvidia 8800gt. knowing the upcoming great news on video cards i don´t want to spend a lot on a new one that will be obsolete in less than a year (thinking of a GT295). In the other hand, i really would like the machine to work smoothly in the viewports of max and autocad, and not having much of a big budget maybe i shouold go for a higer end video card and stay with 6 o 8 Gigs of RAM? that is my basic doubt here, also would love to have more SSD capacity but this disk are so expensive... Thank you in advance for your help. Pablo
pablo scapi
Com on guys, anyone out there can at lest confirm i´m not wrong choosing anything? What about the GC, is that a good choice or would it be close to a gt9800 wich is a cheaper choice? Thank you.
ihabkal
think about power consumption for the grpahics card too, I think the gt9800 needs more power than the gtrs250. Don't expect a lot of responses: most users are on vacation.

pablo scapi
Ok i keep fordward checking and have changed some of the spec looking for reduced cost. this is my new idea. Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Socket 1366 Intel Core I7 920 2.66Ghz Box Socket 1366 (changes) 2x SLI - Asus GeForce GT 240 1GB GDDR3 Mushkin Blackline PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 6GB 3x2GB CL9 Kingston SSDNow V Series 64GB 2.5" SATA Desktop Bundle Basically i have changed the 12 Gb of ram for a dual GPU setup, then i can allways upgrade to 12 GB in the future, but i think the dual GPU will be a big step fordward from my actual 8800 gts. BTW never before have mounted a SLI setup, how is it done? can some one refer me to a good how to do it for dummies page on this.
Archiform 3D
It looks fine with me. I never seem to go wrong with Asus boards and the 2.66 i7 1366 socket seems to be the best deal for now.
