djoshi
Hi, I am rendering animation with trees, n i am getting flickers in trees. Till I can figure out is that, tree leaves are planer..could be causing normal issues..not sure..because if I am playing animation frame to frame, i am getting one leaf rendered & in another not. Any one got any suggestion for this. How to resolve this..! Setting: IR + LC( Multiframe - flythrough) Catmull rom Thanxs..!

ihabkal
maybe the leaf maps aren't accessible to all machines across the network
Tommy L
How did you make the trees?
Crazy Homeless Guy
Post an example of the animated tree. It could be AA and sampling issues.
Ricardo Eloy
Try changing the LC sample size scale to World instead of Screen. Sometimes, this flickering is caused by the GI rays not being able to hot (or see) every object in every frame. Normally happens when the object is far from the camera (it needs less pixels to be shown, hence the poor GI calc = flickering). djoshi
Ya, Rick is saying must be true..I am having problem in objects at far from camera. It creates grainy jitters. I am using proxies for trees. But will it be a memory issue if I change World instead of Screen? Because its exterior. If yes then any alternative to it? I have tried Area filter instead of catmull rom. but same problem! It cant be network issue, b'coz m rendering each shot separately on each machine. Ricardo Eloy
Well, you will have some performance issues, probably speed wise. Don't think memory will be hit too hard, but your processors will have a hard time. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

reptar
Try using video or soften for your antialiasing filter. Video can add roughly 20 percent to renders times but is recommended for animations.
Nic H
you need better much AA and as said above a blurring filter, never use a sharpening filter for animation (imo) most of the time our renders end up getting more blurred in comp to fit with live shot stuff that tends to be quiet soft anyway. 3d or post motion blur plus depth blur can also help.
