Change name of acount

Hello

 

I found out that my name is visible in the google search engine through the threads of this forum so i want to know how can i disable this or how can i change the name of my account (not my user name but the real name)

I believe it is a forum requirement to have your real name used (If I am wrong admin can correct me), and it probably keeps people behaving a little nicer I imagine! I would think you would want your name listed in Google as much as possible.

yup. you need your real name. and so it comes up in google search; it's not doing any harm.

Ok, i am not agianst using my real name inside the forum but i think it would be more correct if this name is visibile ONLY to the people who are registred !! I think everybody has right to choose whether or not his real name is visible through google, it doesn't have nothing to do with this forum and it is a pure question of privacy (which is somenthing very personal)

I think you just have to accept that the forum is in the public realm and either go with it or not. I have actually had it work in my favour as when I interviewed for my current job they knew I was very active on this forum and had a fair idea of my skill level beforehand.

As has already been mentioned, your real name is required to participate on our forums. We are not able to prevent google from indexing your name specifically. Our forum is set up to submit all new posts to google daily so they are indexed quickly. When posted are indexed so are the people who post them.

 

The only two options are to accept this policy or request that your account is deleted.
