max.m
i made a material with an opacity map. in the materialeditor slot i see how the opacitymap affects the material, but not in the viewport. first when i render i see how the material works with uvw mapping on an object. is there a possibility to see this also in the viewport`? is that what vray-rt makes? hughie
Check you have the "show standard mat in viewport" button checked in the material editor. it is the 4th button from the right under the material preview slots
max.m
thanks for the reply hughie. do you mean the "show map in viewport" button? i can`t find yours. anyway the "show map in viewport" button was checked. in the meanwhile i got the info that vraymaterials do not support viewport opacity. with vray-rt this can be solved. kippu
if vray material does not show opacity , just copy it onto a standard material , diffuse channel , adjust the uv's all you want and then reuse it onto the vray opacity channel again
