Tommy L
Hi guys, I recently posted my new Reel. I received a couple of comments that there's not much arch-vis work in there.Tthe reason there is not much arch-vis animation is two-fold. First, I didnt do much this year. Second, my older footage is all divx. I would like to produce another reel, this with all my old arch-vis stuff. However, when I bring the footage into AE, then I export it as an uncompressed avi, its really jumpy. Quite annoying, it renders all my old stuff useless! Any advice for converting would be much appreciated. Tom.

AJLynn
Handbrake is what I use for all my Apple-compliant video converting needs.
Ricardo Eloy
It has also a PC version (which sucks, imho)... But on Mac it's a really fast converter.

XKP
well i am an encoder for fun in my free-time and i recommend you re-encode your original rendered image sequence. you stand to lose to much quality converting from one format to another. Divx is an old and inferior codec so converting from that to a new format is sure to create problems. First off i recommend using h264 or preferably x264. Load your image sequence into something like TmpgEnc Xpress or a free alternative virtualdub and install the free x264 codec, apply some filters if u want and update all your work !! hope this helps

However, these animations were mostly made whilst I worked at firms. I didnt take the frames or the original files with me when I left. I Just copied the animations.
