Changing objects properties not working?

Here's the problem: The box that identifies the properties of the lines/block on the “object properties” tool menu does not work. i.e.: as I am drawing, if I click on a line and want to change the properties, usually what I would do is go to the box on the “object properties” tool menu that identifies the properties of the line that I am working on, select the new layer I want my line to be on, select it, and it changes it to the new layer, this is not working anymore. Nothing changes. Now what I have to do is select the line, open the properties box that lists ALL the properties of my line and change the layer that way. It’s a A LOT slower.

 

I dont know if anyone has run into this problem before.

Go to Tools, Options, Selection and check Noun/Verb Selection.
