braddewald
I have a deadline approaching at the end of the day. I have my scene file saved in max 2010 and tried to open it up on my work computers to send it to the render farm and lo and behold you cannot open a 2010 max file in 2009. I heard there was a script but scriptspot is down right now. I need help please!! PS. I tried exporting as an FBX but it won't work Edited January 18, 2010 by braddewald PS. Crazy Homeless Guy
If your ready to render, your best bet at this point might be to purchase time on a render farm that already has 2010. You could try to upgrade your own farm to 2010, but you will be using valuable time. I wouldn't waste any more effort on trying to back save the file. Even is you get it to work, I would guess that there is no guarantee that everything will work perfectly.

braddewald
Well I successfully updated all servers to max 2010 along with their vray counterparts and got the job through before the deadline. All in all it went rather smoothly considering the headaches I went through trying to get the farm up and running the first time I set everything up. Thanks Dave and Travis for getting me through what is sure to be only one of the many freakouts I'll have dealing with deadlines. A small victory is nice following the horrendous Cowboys loss Sunday. Thanks again.
