Digital Content Management

I'm interested to see how people manage/structure their digital content that have collated over the years??

 

Do you just use specific folder structures locally, dedicated software, or some other techniques to keep things organized and easily accessible?

 

Reason i ask, is all of my stuff is all over the place at the minute and looking for the most efficient way to get it organized and keep it organized while i have some free time

The hardest thing I find is keeping track of texture maps and assets. I now use cool iris coupled with image icons for all my assets. It's a great way to just browse loads of images where nomenclature may not be descriptive enough.
