erickdt
Volumetric light is only visible when you're in a camera view. It will no show in a perspective or orthographic viewport.
Stephen Thomas
You have to make sure that the shadows type for the light is set to shadow map. Also I would set up two lights, one for controlling the volume light effect with all objects excluded from illumination, and another for lighting your scene. That way you will have better flexibility and can adjust the intensity of the effect independantly of your scene lighting. Stephen Thomas
Didn't realise it worked with vray shadow too. It's been a while since I tried it though!
