Renders washed out white after finishing

I had this problem a year ago and cannot remember what i did to fix it but I am using vray and max 2010. After the render is finished if i click in the render window or save the file the image becomes washed out (very white). I cannot remember what the fix was for this. everything looks great when the render is finished just dont save or click the window lol..

its set to 2.2 everywhere so i dont know why that would do it..

Are you saving to floating point, or a low dynamic range (8bit/16bit?) Floating points will need output gamma set to 1.0.

You know im not exactly sure is this under render setup. I will check tonight when i get home..

Are you previewing through vray frame buffer? Or using linear workflow? You probably are, in which case it'll be gamma corrected through the sRGB button at the bottom. When you save it'll save it with gamma of 2.2, hence the bleaching out. You need to correct it in post or bake it out with the correct gamma.
