new Lcd and Gamma issue

hello everybody,

my Boss just bought me a new samsung Lcd 244t (my old was an 2493 hm) this one has a better panel with better viewing angels and supposedly better color representation.

the thing is when i view my renders the look darker than usual even with the brightness set to maximum.the solution i came with is setting the gamma from 0 to -0.2 but i am not sure if this is the way to go so please advise.

i know i should get a screen calibrator and i will but they are not available here so untill then what shoul i do ???
