hardcak
Hi, I’m currently learning Vray (for Rhino) and trying to get to the nitty gritty on Image sampling. I have read a few articles on it, and there’s lots of mention about sampling the pixels and ways to improve speed etc but I don’t get it fundamentally!!! I know what a pixel is but, can’t understand what it means by sampling a pixel? Is their a simple way of explaining this from concept? I’m sure the penny will drop soon, but I am getting frustrated. Any help appreciated
Thablanch
http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/render_params_imagesampler.htm Look at the bottom of the page. Adaptive - faster for smooth scenes, DMC - for scenes with details In Adaptive, going under 0 speeds things, but there is a quality drop. Biggest the number ( both Adaptive and DMC) and better the quality. Biggest the number, longer the render times.
Ricardo Eloy
Check out Chistopher Nichols' video at Gnomonology.com. The name is "Speed vs Quality in V-Ray". It's 56 minutes long and well worth the 12 bucks.
