Nats
I have 3dsMax09 and for some reason it seems to keep refreshing the viewports over any open pulldown menus or open windows that are on top of the viewports including the render window. Its getting sooo annoying. Can anyone explain why it is doing this? I have a Radeon 4800 graphics card and plenty of RAM- I'm at a loss. Ive tried switching off the preference setting under the graphics card options for the 'redraw screen on window expose' and the 'incremental screen updates' to no avail. Anyone? Nats
Well to answer my own post it seems that switching to OpenGL intead of DirectX solved it but if anyone knows why this happens I would be interested to hear about it. Tommy L
Did you try updating to the latest directX driver?
Nats
Did you try updating to the latest directX driver? My directx is pretty well up to date. From the web it sounds like directx is very unstable for 3dsmax and opengl is the one to go for, not only that but it seems that opengl is actually accepted over more systems and is the more powerful of the two whereas directx is mainly used for gaimes development. So it sounds like opengl should be the renderer of choice anyway which is good.
