jbrckovic
I'm trying new aproaches, and can't figure out how could i work in LWF in VRay but without using VFB, and using Max frame buffer. Does anybody knows how could it be done?
Stephen Thomas
Quite easily, just use it instead of the vray one. If you're set up correctly it shouldn't make a difference. What problems are you finding?
jbrckovic
I have Gamma and LUT settings set as normally as when using VFB, and image is rendered in Max's frame buffer correctly, but my problem is output, which is totally blowned out. As followed in making of, output is set before rendering in common render setup window, and set to 32 bit .exr with coverage as Extra channel to save and Use REalPixel RGB Data option checked. I don't know is this important. And as seen in mentioned making of, Gamma is set to 1.0 in Color mapping.
Stephen Thomas
Just tested it and it works fine for me. Make sure your output gamma is set to 1.0, either in the Gamma preferences or by overriding it in the save file dialogue. Failing that could it be a problem with how the software you're viewing it in is set up to display linear images?
jbrckovic
Gammas are OK. I see there is a problem when I set Float 32 bit format in exr output settings. 16 bit exr isn't blowned out as 32 is. Is there any explanation? jbrckovic
Actually it's not a 32 bit that is making problems it is "use realPixel RGB data" which is causing problems... Does anybody knows what exactly this option is for? Edited February 4, 2010 by jbrckovic
