Bruce Hart
Hi all, this is one of those annoying little things I've been wanting to fix for quite some time. In Max 2010 Design occasionally the recent file list drop down menu (from the big M) goes into a mode where the file list disappears when my cursor hovers over a recent file name - just before you have a chance to click on it. Does anybody know how to fix this? I've tried graphics drivers, mouse drivers, altering the fly-out menu time - all to no avail. I don't have the steering wheel or view cube enabled. I have Vray installed if that makes any difference, but the same thing can happen with the AutoCAD menu. DanGrover
I don't know, but the exact same thing happens to me. The PC I'm on at the moment has the best (and the most expensive by far!) graphics card I've ever used, but the viewport and UI generally also seem the worse. I don't know if it' the card, UI bugs or what, but I get the same problem. It's horribly frustrating.

heni30
I found by trial and error that if you move your cursor across the top of the column and then down along the extreme right to the right of the push pins you can move up and down without the list items disappearing. Then when you get to the item you want, just move left over it and click very fast. I did that this a.m. and after the first time the list stopped disappearing but the problem might still be there when I turn the computer on again. Crazy Homeless Guy
I simply added back in the old File menu. I am faster at navigating it then the large buttons in the M. http://forums.cgarchitect.com/40783-max-tip-select-similar.html#post282489

heni30
You can also use the tab key after hitting the M. The first item on the left will highlight. Hitting the Up arrow key will highlight the last item on the right. Then you just Up arrow to the item you want.
