daymich1
I am working on a Exterior day scene and am having trouble with splotches in with my HDRI. I have placed it in the scene under the vray environment Skylight. I have The multiplier set to 3.0 in the material editor and am using Linear Color mapping. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of the light spots? I have tried making a dome light and applying the Hdri to that, but my lighting doesn't seam to be as strong, but this does remove the splotches. I was just wondering if there was a way around this? daymich1@gmail.com
Stephen Thomas
This is a common problem when using an HDRI in the environment slot that has a relatively high dynamic range. The dome light is the way to go, it shouldn't alter the light intensity though as long as your dome light multiplier is set to 1. What it may do is introduce more noise to your image so you might need to up your image sampling settings.

Eric Sosa
Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk u'r always smart rick bout the hrdi problem, I would use vray sunligth instead, I'm simply not kin on using dome ligth...it makes renders very cartonish (my opinion) tho many people want just that. perhaps this is the case too.
