raziel
Hi guys, im doing some grass for an exterior scene using the grass-o-matic plugin and replicating it with mr proxies. My question is, is there a way to apply uvw mapping to proxies? Ill post an image of what ive got once it finishes rendering. Thanks in advance! Crazy Homeless Guy
Assign all materials and mapping to your models before you make them proxies. You can do a few adjustments after they are proxies, but those adjustments will be limited to things like increasing the number of tiles, or changing the materials. raziel
Thanks for the reply Travis. So they keep the uvw propreties from the original object. Thats good to know, the problem is that i have different materials with different mapping coordinates. The only thing i can think is that i have to make a original object for each material that i have, apply the respective uvw map and only then replicate it. Unless you can figure out how to set up your material by increasing the number of tiles within the texture map. Off hand I don't see any other way. raziel
My render just finished. Still have to "cut" the grass a little better, and redo it with the proper mapping, but here it is.
Peter M. Gruhn
I notice sometimes that my proxies don't have a material. "EEEEK my grass is pink!" I haven't chased this down. I'm curious why you need different mappings for different instances of the grass in that render. Different texture maps I can see. Just double checking here - are you SURE you need different mappings?

They both use different mappings, but you could be right, when i look at my render i dont see anything wrong, so i may not need those mappings.
