Gabriella_A
Good morning to everyone... I'm having lots of problems on settings a new pc... Please, If you can help... forgive my basic english--- Simply I can't handle medium/big scene with max 2009... I'm talking about 100mb big scenes... That aren't so big!! The viewports is fast, i can rotate ,handle, move... but after 10-30 minuts of working, the machine goes out of ram (I see from the task manager that is taking the 70% of the total ram...) Max give to me a Ram error, and the file gets corrupt!! I can only work with files smaller than 70 mb... The pc specifications are "medium", because I need a second pc for modeling/rendering ... but It seems that I cannot work at all!! The specifications are Windows Vista ultimate, 32 bit 4 gb RAM (no 3gb switch, I'll have to try ) Intel Quand Core Q8200 ATI Radeon 5770 1gb ddr5 Harddisk 1 tera I need a 64 bit sistem? 4gb ram are too few? Working with similar files with max9 and a less performing pc wasn't really a problem... Why max cant' handle the real amount of ram of the pc? Why craches using only the 70% of ram (70 of 3,50 gb because vista 32 bit don't see more ram...) Please give some advice... thanks in advance, Gabriella
andrejcordeiro
Hola Gabriela Operating systems of 32-bit only recognize 3GB of ram. It´s better if you work with lighter files. Your pc config... are ok. But if you want to get more of you computer memory ram, you should install an operating system that works on 64 bits. It will use all of your computer memory. Gabriella_A
Thanks for your reply, Andre. I'm thiking that the only viable solution is a 64 bit operative system... on the other hand, I would be stuck with max 9 :/ I've already contact my hardware supplier in order to have 4 gb ram more... I'm starting to think that all of you have a 64bit sistem... where was I when all were doing the passage?? I really miss something important!! thanks again Gabriella
exxoo
Moving to windows vista/7 64bit solved memory issues for me, but that was mostly rendering issues. If you go 64bit make sure that all your applications and plugins have a 64bit installer. I dont think Max 64bit will run with plugins that are 32bit. You can run 32bit apps in a 64bit OS but not the other way around. 3gb switch help us allot in AutoCAD.
