shikodesign2000
Hi, I discussed this before, but I didn't reach any result, so please if you can help me in this: How to import clean and smooth arcs from autocad to 3dmax? What are the proper settings I have to use?
erickdt
Maximum Deviation for 3D solids (in the Autocad Import dialogue) should be set anywhere from .001-.005 The smaller the number the smoother your arcs will be. E
1d2d3d4d
or when choosing the file, choose Legacy Autocad..
peprgb
And very important; in cases of curved geometry, import only shapes (not solids), then extruding this shapes in max you get smooth results!! 1d2d3d4d What is the benefit of importing in Legacy?¿ Cheers,
1d2d3d4d
Legacy AutoCad keeps the curves smoother and the corners are better... when using Legacy i think it does not seperate your Cad layers in Max.. it might be better to import a layer at a time rather than the whole dwg... peprgb
Ok understood....although i try with Legacy to extrude then and dont saw smoother results, but the file size decrease a lot. Regards,
