AEC STAIRS MODEL- How do I export "paths" to ACAD

Hello,

 

Im using 3dsMax Design and using AEC modeling and I want to export a model of spiral stairs made in 3dsMax to ACAD, but I want to use the rail "path" instead of the mesh that AEC generates.

 

I want to do this so I can sweep a shape along the paths in ACAD.

 

I tried exporting the model as is (without AEC generating the rails meshes for me)

I tried converting the paths that are generated to editable splines.

 

In either case, the splines do not appear in ACAD.

 

Any hints to point me in the right direction?
