Render Elements, Saving Velocity maps

I want to render velocity maps, but if I use the Vray Frame buffer I get a warning dialogue saying something about using the Vrayframe buffer. It renders but wont save. If I use max's frame buffer it saves but the rendered image is wrong.

I can't read all of the text in the dialogue box due to the crazy inability for max2010 to show anything longer than two lines of text.

So, how do I render and save velocity maps and use the Vray frame buffer???

either go to the correct channel in the dropdown list in the VFB then save it out by hitting the save button or check the "save separate render channels" option in the Frame buffer rollout. save a name and do it in the render elements tab too just to make sure, and you should get a saved map....

oh yeah vray doesn't like it when you enable the elements in the tab because it frees up memory if you keep them turned off. I think the second method I selected is the best way of doing it. It will save out a sequence for you of each of the elements. Make sure the check box "elements active" is selected but dw about enabling each one in its individual rollout...

hope that makes sense.
