nisus
Sounds good. Unfortunately not too many arch-vizers use these by now... Maybe this should change... I won't have anything to contribute, but sure would be very interested in such a section rgds nisus
ferox
this suggestion arose from looking at the use of compositing to simulate 'realistic' images and animations. esp in the illusions of film and cinema. many are remarkably successful and could fit within the animated walktrough of landscape and buidling renderings. for example, there is no need to generate vegetation geometry if real world video can be convincingly composited + rendered with the building or site model. saves time and looks better. one would use an hdri-based render of the model, taken at the time of day when the video was shot. well, that was my (somewhat abstract) thinking... there is an open source compositor (linux) available called cinelerra (? heroine.com?). i havent used it, so cant comment. does it integrate with film gimp (since been renamed)?
