nisus
Hi all, I definetly vote for a Painter section in the forum, since it's a very underestimated program to use in architectural visualisation with awesome possibilities. Painter strongest advantages in architectural visualisation must be the possibility to spray images. Since these image can be randomized in full color - you simply can't compaire it to the ps-brushes in any way - a lot of usefull techniques arise: spraying foliage, trees, people... Other advantages are pre-vis and other things I'd love to discuss in the new forum section. rgds nisus
ingo
...and how about Studio Artist 2 , another nice software to waste a lot of time testing and testing and testing...... and you can even animate painting. just my 3 cents (2 cents with value-added tax) ingo
recon
I'll second that vote... I've been playing around with Painter off and on for a few months now, and it's really wonderful. I've only hit the tip of the iceberg, but its loads of fun. Check out http://www.gardenhose.com for some cool tools... Anyway, I would love to see how others are using the program. nisus
Hi ingo, There is also a vector paint program called expression... Unfortunately, I don't know anyone using these tools (yet), so maybe it doesn't make sense to start such sections yet... Hi recon, Great you mention gardenhose. We just bought the jungle & forestry a few days ago. So I'll keep you posted on how the tools work. Did you try the demo allready? It's simply great. We will receive the full product somewhere this weekend, so more is to come If we get a painter section here at cgarchitect, Dennis from Digarts will also add some interesting posts about tips and techniques. I'm really looking forward for this rgds nisus
vizwhiz
hi There nisus and DennisB and All, how about a generic 2d Painting program forum(s) where all of The cool photocompositing Techniques for anyThing non-FotoChop could be discussed, There are Others That are too many to Mention This would be way cool Thanks Randy
nisus
Hi all, DennisB: cga has a special tutorial section where you can post whatever is related to architectural visualisation Vizwhiz: imho a generic 2d section won't do half the job. Idd there are plenty of more application that do the a wonderful 2D job, but people could get confused and start posting any 2d-wips or final images in those sections too. Or get confused with the photoshop section. Imho the software part/forum is better structured on a per application base, also it's more coherent since the there is no 3d-section too. On top of this, painter is rather unique to other 2d programs, much in the way photoshop is too. If many members would use other 2d-programs (paint shop pro e.g.) I'd rather prefer to make more sections than have one large section without any overview. More thoughts on this? Jeff, what do you think about this new section? rgds nisus
