reptar
Here is a rough WIP of a restaurant front. Any comments on how I can go about improving this is always appreciated. I have added some Ambient Occlusion to enhance shadows. One thing in particular I am having trouble with, is displaying roughed up concrete walls. It seems the daylight system is washing out the shadows when I apply a bump map and lowering the exposure control too dim for the sunlight look. I've tried to increase the values for the bump map but the washing out is still occuring. I have tried displacement maps but am not getting the acquired result, as often the bumps do not look like the rough concrete surface found on real life building walls. Any ideas? WAcky
That facade is very familiar Unfortunately I don't use mental ray so I can't contribute in a meaningful way
Justin Hunt
use a specular map in conjunction with the bump map. The direct sun hitting the facade is not helping you any. angle it more to the side to have longer shadows. This in turn with show the bump mapping more. jhv
