Mental Ray Doesnt Like Polygon Cones

Scene: Primitive Plane/Primitive Cone/Sky Light/Omni Light (set to spec only)

 

Renderer: Mental Ray/FG only (FG on Low, Anti Aliasing Medium)

 

When I render out a simple primitive cone (TurboSmooth set to 2) on top of a primitive plane the tip is splotchy black. This has been bugging me for some time now. Why does MR and FG not like rendering the tip of a cone? And how do I go about fixing this problem!

 

I didnt attach any photos because its so simple if you guys really wanna know what it looks like I figured u could just quick make a scene and do it yourselves ;).
