Ricardo Eloy
Exporting as OBJ, maybe? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
artx3d
Exporting as OBJ, maybe? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk It is the same, obj or 3ds. In Onyx tree the trees are in polygons but when I export the objects are in triangles.
Justin Hunt
when importing the obj into max there is an option it import them as pollies or tris, jhv
artx3d
when importing the obj into max there is an option it import them as pollies or tris, jhv There is not option in MAX!!! I don't think it is posible in obj or 3ds. In DXF yes but I will lose the UVW Unwrap...so it is not good. Obj and 3ds files are always in triangles. WAcky
PL in onyx does not mean polygon. It means polyline I believe.

Peter M. Gruhn
PL does indeed stand for "polyline," but the term has a (I think) unique meaning: "a sequence of one-polygon segments." I suspect further that one should not read the Onyx docs' use of the term "polygon" as corresponding to contemporary 3d modeler jargon. Something I wondered about and now know (see attached) there is no guarantee that an Onyx quad is planar.

Quad is planar .... the problems is when you export from Onyx doesn't make quad, only triangles. Now I have another question...Which is the best software for optimization. The optimization from max is not good always.
