Export from Onyx

when importing the obj into max there is an option it import them as pollies or tris,

There is not option in MAX!!!

I don't think it is posible in obj or 3ds.

In DXF yes but I will lose the UVW Unwrap...so it is not good.

Obj and 3ds files are always in triangles. :(

PL does indeed stand for "polyline," but the term has a (I think) unique meaning: "a sequence of one-polygon segments."

 

I suspect further that one should not read the Onyx docs' use of the term "polygon" as corresponding to contemporary 3d modeler jargon.

 

Something I wondered about and now know (see attached) there is no guarantee that an Onyx quad is planar.

Quad is planar .... the problems is when you export from Onyx doesn't make quad, only triangles.Now I have another question...Which is the best software for optimization. The optimization from max is not good always.
