Matt McDonald
I'm curious to hear how any of you track assets developed for specific projects. On our bread and butter work we have all our cars, people, trees, etc. saved out in specific locations. This works well and is worth the time because typically we might do what is essentially the same project thirty or forty times a year. On atypical projects we are always under the gun to develop furnishings, light fixtures, trees, etc. and all of those assets sit in the project and are only recalled if someone remembers to use them. Because these projects are atypical and infrequent I really don't want to dedicate the hours ($$$) to have someone go through and save out all the assets into a central location. So do any of you have any suggestions as to how I might keep track of all that stuff without dedicating the hours to cleaning the projects? Thanks for the help! oligophant
i think if you finish a project the next thing to do before start a new one is extract those new modeled items and organize them, so you could use them on future projects. and for the old ones just let the junior do it for you, it will help him to familiarize with past projects and how the work its done.
