i have lunch with james all the time, so it would be nice to see others come out.

None taken, I'm getting tired of talking to you too! :p

ill come out

That is a long way! Catching transit in Surrey??? The pub is a short bus from downtown, or Olympic Village... sometimes I do the walk to downtown, its not horrible (20-25 mins) and if you bring your camera their are some nice sights from the bridge.

A mid-sized arch firm. Been there since Nov. last year. I'm doing mostly master planning for their overseas project, have not done rendering at all. Surprisingly, nobody uses Max in there, it's all sketchup + vray. No wonder it's very difficult to find jobs as arch'l visualizers, but I'll save that discussion to when we meet.

The SketchUp Conversation? or how it is hard to find jobs?

ok, great Gianina, looking forward to seeing you there! Seems like we are getting a good little group together... I think this first little get together should be more of a meet and greet style... if people want, bring your portfolio to share it... wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hello.

Mind if I join the April 1st meet?

In case anyone is intrested, Chaos Group the maker of VRay is doing a road show on March 29th here in Vancouver. Please see http://chaosgroup.com/newsletters/20110315/ for details.

Chaos Group is coming to Canada to share its most recent developments in rendering technologies! Together with our partner 3VIS we invite you to join us for the first Chaos Group Canadian Tour.

Chaos Group has put together a comprehensive program, which includes all core products, V-Ray 2.0 for 3ds Max and a sneak preview of the upcoming V-Ray 2.0 for Maya. In addition, representatives from renowned visualization studios like Mackevision and Cicada Design will share their experience with V-Ray and why the rendering engine has become their preferred solution for creating visualization of photorealistic architectural and design concepts.

Also for the Vancouver event, the Academy Award-winning studio Digital Domain will be on hand to demonstrate how V-Ray played a key role on a recent blockbuster film.

Looking forward to seeing you,

Chaos Group Team

Sorry guys, I'll have to take a pass on this meetup, chickenpox got me.

chickenpox ? what kind of excuse is that ?

who gets chickenpox anyways ?

i'll tell you who - betty and wilma - just before they were to go on the tasty pastry TV contest to win $10,000 for their upside down-flint-rubble bubble cake. predictably fred and barney screwed it up by going on disguised as their wives.*

*the flintstones were on TV last night.

Do I need to show a doctor's cert? LOL. Since I'm not working for the next 10 days, I can keep this all night.

usually i would require a doctor's note, but in this case i believe you.

get well soon...and don't scratch at them !
