MJL Imaging
Help, Anyone care to share some ideas on how to develop convincining cedar shake roofs. I've been messing around with different ideas, and maybe with the help of all you design monster's out there, I can finally say, damn, that's a good roof. I don't have to get all that close, so I don't think I have to model it. I guess it's a matter of good maps (bumps, mixes, etc.) Ahhhhh!!! vizbiz
MJL Imaging, I just completed a project where I had to create a cedar shake roof. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but check it out: http://www.parkervisuals.com/tallhouse/index.html If you want the 3dmax .mat file, I'll e-mail it to you. Im not trying to be an ass but Ive had that exact shingle map for quite some time and if I remember correctly I had stumbled across it here: http://www.rzc.org/html/gallery/mill/Oct2000/Oct12_2000.shtml -dave
trhoads
Thank you Detective, I apologize, I mistakenly thought that this was an original material map. I am sorry. I have so many materials, a large % of which are originals. Since I do not keep a running list of where they came from, I grabbed a file that was not an original. In the future I will keep to myself. Sorry for any inconveinience, or help I may have caused.
David Knourek
I was not trying to accuse you of anything, rather just trying to give credit where credit is due. Do not take my post so personally, were all professionals here to help each other. I just see too often where people are claiming to have done work that is not their own. I know what you mean by a large texture library as I have around 400gig of maps here and about 60% of that are my own and the rest purchased or from other sources. -dave
