Rotating Car wheels

I'm animating cars and Im using ezcarrig. Evertything is fine if I use the original car rig which has units in centemetres.

 

If I change the car rig units to metres and resize the rig to the correct size for a car in metres I start having problems.

 

The speedometer no longer works correctly. It's is giving the wrong speed. Instead of showing a speed of 20kph it is showing 2 kph. So there is probably a formula that I need to change in the wire parameters but I can't find it. Any ideas

 

When I attach a new path and delete the old path. The car rig goes to the new path but rotates at an angle.
