braddewald
For the system rollout in the vray render settings dialogue, there is a dynamic memory limit option that, on my machine at least, is set by default to 400MB. I can raise this to 800MB no problem, and it seems to speed everything up (the light cache phase is the most visible of the changes). So now, like Icarus, I'm wondering how far I can push it. Any ideas how far I can go in relation to my memory? I think I have 4GB. Do other people mess with this setting at all? Also, what exactly does this setting do? Koper
Oh yes, you a starting on a very interesting journey. There is not one right answer as me and another college keeps on arguing on what you should set this value to. But good news, The Brian's from 3dats have made a good video on this specific topic. have a look at week 25 in the link. http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/default.asp
